Siwa Oasis. Also known as Isiwan (Berber language), it is an urban oasis in the Egyptian Sahara, nearly 50 km east of the Libyan boarder. Siwa Oasis is probably Egypt's most isolated settlement. It takes up to 12 hours to reach it from Cairo and around 10 hours from Alexandria. The majority of the inhabitants are Berbers who developed a unique culture and a distinct language in this insulation.


The Fortress of Shali:


Built on a hill inside a Protective wall originally breached by a single gate, the maze of mud-brick buildings that Comprises the Fortress served the people of the oasis for nearly 8 centuries. The inhabitants had to live in the narrow quarters, sharing their animals, which were herded into the fortress each evening.

The springs of Siwa are famous throughout the western desert, The spring of the sun Or Cleopatra's bath has been mentioned by travelers to Siwa since the days of Herodotus, legend maintains that Cleopatra swam here when she visited Siwa oasis, So, It must be assumed

 

The Temple of the oracle:

 

The Temple of the Oracle in Siwa, known as the Temple of Alexander the Great, It’s a temple located in the Siwa desert in western Egypt. It was consecrated to Amun. According to legend, its foundation is related to that of the Dodona oracle, as it is said that they were two black doves that left Thebaid with the same mission, one flew to Dodona and the other to Siwa.

 

Fatnas Lake:


Fatnas is Small island in Birket Siwa, you can reach it by walk or by bike, It is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the sunset, You will get a spectacular view of the lake with Gebel Bayda and Hamra
forming the backdrop to the west, A walk in the Garden show a variety of trees including Banana, dates and olive.

 

Gebal Al-Mawta:


The mountain contains number of tombs. The tombs, which cover every inch of its base and are situated on its terraces and on all sides of the conical part, date from the 26th dynasty, the Greek and the Roman periods, though there appear to be no Christian burials.

One of the best experiences you will have in Siwa. you don’t actually need to travel to the dead sea to float on the water instead of swimming, you can just go to Siwa. Not to mention their beauty and healing effect. Because of its extreme saltiness, it has a healing power for sinuses, skin and eye infections. Besides, Siwan people use salts in building and their tools and also in making lamps as they have a soul healing power by eradicating the negative energy.
